Disease:
Normal
Origin:
Derived from embryonic lung tissue of a male in 1965. It is one of the few human diploid lines to have type A glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. The capacity of this cell line to propagate in culture is limited, and they will eventually senesce. Cells from the current distribution stocks are capable of at least 15 population doublings before the onset of senescence.
