The Mv 1 Lu cell line was derived from trypsinised lungs of several nearly full-term, unsexed fetuses of the Aleutian mink. Used for focus forming assays for murine and feline sarcoma viruses.

+ 10% FBS
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm^2 using 0.25% trypsin; 0.05% EDTA. Culture at 5% CO2, 37°C. Renew medium once every 2 to 3 days.
Complete culture medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO I
