Disease:
Normal
Origin:
3T3-J2 is a subclone of the original mouse embryonic fibroblast line, 3T3-Swiss Albino. After irradiation, these cells are commonly used as a feeder layer for growth of human keratinocytes.
Species:
Mus musculus, mouse
12-13 day mouse embryos
Fibroblast
Adherent
This is a hypertriploid mouse cell line. The modal chromosome number was 68 occurring in 30% of cells. The rate of cells with higher ploidies was 2.4%.
This cell line is a subclone of 3T3-Swiss Albino that was established by G. Todaro and H. Green in 1962 from disaggregated Swiss mouse embryos.
AddexBio-formulated DMEM (C0003-01) + 10% BCS (bovine calf serum [iron-supplemented; Not heat-inactivated; Not ?-irradiated])
Subculture (60-70% confluency). Do Not allow high confluency. Split the cells at a density of between 3-4 x 103 cells/cm2 using 0.25% (w/v) Trypsin- 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Culture at 5% CO2, 37°C.
Complete growth culture medium supplemented with 7.5% (v/v) DMSO I
