Origin:

The line was formed by fusing BALB/c spleen cells (from mouse immunized with sheep RBCs) with the P3X63Ag8 myeloma. The cells do not secrete immunoglobulin, are resistant to 8-azaguanine at 20 ug/ml and are HAT sensitive.

Subculture:

Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Maintain cell density between 5x10^4 and 5x10^5 viable cells/mL. Some cells can attach and be transferred by shaking them loose. Culture at 5% CO2, 37°C. Renew medium once every 2 to 4 days depending on cell density.

Freezing Medium:

Complete culture medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
