Hs27 is one of a series of human foreskin fibroblast lines developed at NBL, California. The material was obtained from a normal new-born, and the cells possess the G6PD type A phenotype. There were no consistent aberrations in analysed cells.

Subculture sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) at 1:2 to 1:4 ratio, i.e. seeding at 1-2x10^4 cells/cm^2 using 0.25% (w/v) Trypsin- 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Culture at 5% CO2, 37°C.
Complete growth culture medium supplemented with 7.5% (v/v) DMSO I
