established from the peripheral blood of a 15-year-old North African girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL at first relapse) in 1973; carries t(12;21) leading to ETV6-RUNX1 (TEL-AML1) fusion gene.

Initially after thawing cells may be difficult to culture! maintain at high density
(>2 x 10^6 cells/ml); cells grow slowly at this stage (with doubling time at 50-70 hours); minimum density at ca. 0.5 x 10^6
cells/ml; seed out at ca. 2 x 10^6 cells/ml with initially 20% FBS in a 24-well
plate; after thawing viability decreases during the first several days, but cells recover
afterwards; do not change medium during this time. Masimum density at 3-5x10^6 cells/mL. Culture at 5% CO2, 37°C.
Complete growth culture medium supplemented with 20% FBS; 10% (v/v) DMSO I
